Feedback: I always have a soft spot for musicians with eclectic tastes and Laura Werth is one helluva an eclectic singer and writer of songs. On the one hand she hits you with great reworkings of songs from Maria's "Midnight At The Oasis" to Jim's "Light My Fire" and then slips in with fine self penned material with "Watchin' The World Go By" and the playful "Daily Drudge Blues" as fine examples of the songwriters craft. Her take on the standards is so good I almost forgot Tony Williams out front of the Platters when I first heard "Twilight Time". The backing musicians are the cream of the crop. This is a debut CD that is long overdue. Laura Werth has found a permanent spot on my "Jazz Infusion" radio show. Feedback: Watchin The World Go By has been added to the Easy FM 87.6 playlist from next week. It has been included in an evening rotation from 6pm as the music format at that time moves a little more mellow and the songs on the CD are ideally suited to that timeslot. In addition to local listeners, we have tourists from all over Australia, particularly staying in caravans and cabins, and many have congratulated us on the music we play in the evening as they find it perfect to wind down after the day's activities. Many thanks for allowing us to include this CD on Easy FM 87.6.
